Rapid and accurate methods for dengue virus detection in infected patients are crucial for proper treatment. In this paper it is presented a molecular diagnostic method for detection of dengue virus in a disposable polyester-toner microchip directly from serum samples. The method is based on isothermal amplification of RNA virus and visual detection. The result can be obtained in 15 min with great accuracy and low limit of detection. Details are presented in the Article Molecular Diagnostics of Dengue by Reverse Transcription-Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification (RT-LAMP) in Disposable Polyester-Toner Microdevices by Geovana M. Mendes, Kézia G. Oliveira, Juliane C. Borba, Thais S. Oliveira, Fabíola S. Fiaccadori, Maurício L. Nogueira, Alexandre M. Bailão, Célia Maria A. Soares, Emanuel Carrilho and Gabriela R. M. Duarte on page 1841.
