A bar adsorptive microextraction (BAµE) method followed by large volume injection-gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LVI-GC-MS) analysis was developed to analyze endosulfan isomers in teas and yerba mate infusions. The method provided selectivity for these pesticides. Limits of detections (LOD), limits of quantification (LOQ) and recoveries were comparable to reported techniques. LOQs were lower than the maximum residue levels (MRLs) established for endosulfan.

TD-DFT Analysis of the Dissymmetry Factor in Camphor

Iran da L. Sousa; Gabriel Heerdt; Valdecir F. Ximenes; Aguinaldo R. de Souza; Nelson H. Morgon

How to cite this article

Camphor is a chiral bicyclic ketone that exhibits an exceptionally high anisotropic dissymmetry factor (g-factor). It was observed accordance between the calculated value, at time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) level of theory, and the experimental result, −0.09 and −0.05, respectively. This process is associated with n → π* (highest occupied molecular orbital-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO)) electronic transition.
