Thin films based on carbon nanotubes/polyaniline were obtained through a liquid/liquid interfacial route, and used as electrochemical sensors for ascorbic acid, showing high sensitivity attributed to the synergic effect between the components. Details are presented in the Article Evaluation of Carbon Nanotubes/Polyaniline Thin Films for Development of Electrochemical Sensors by Fabio S. Lisboa, Eduardo G. C. Neiva, Marcio F. Bergamini, Luiz H. Marcolino Junior and Aldo J. G. Zarbin on page 1093.

A method of digestion with dilute nitric acid was optimized by mixture design for the extraction of elements in the seed, peel, and pulp of Casearia fasciculata. Chemometrics tools such as principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis were efficient in the formation of groups, corresponding to the fruit parts.

The figure illustrates the procedure for sampling of PM10 (particulate matter with diameters lower than 10 µm) and PM2.5 (particulate matter with diameters lower than 2.5 µm) in Rio Claro emphasizing the vicinity of the city to a big ceramic industry pole. Furthermore, the synchrotron radiation X-ray fluorescence technique is illustrated as the method for analyzing the elemental content of particulate matter (PM) together with graphics indicating the used statistical tests for the characterization and source apportionment of PM.
