Scale-up investigation by in situ infrared spectroscopy and a forced degradation study of tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) allowed to propose modifications to previous process and also showed a new degradation product. Vero cells infected with SARS-CoV-2 pretreated with TDF inhibits replication in cell culture. Additionally, it was performed a docking study with the recent published cryo-EM structure SARS-CoV-2 RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. Details are presented in the Communication Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate: New Chemical Developments and Encouraging in vitro Biological Results for SARS-CoV-2 by Giuliano C. Clososki, Rafael A. Soldi, Rodrigo M. da Silva, Thais Guaratini, José N. C. Lopes, Pâmela R. R. Pereira, João L. C. Lopes, Thiago dos Santos, Ronaldo B. Martins, Cristina S. Costa, Andréia N. de Carvalho, Luis L.
