Microplastics are considered ubiquitous in the environment and they were already detected in several compartments. This review brings a summary of the studies regarding microplastics contamination in water, sediment, and biota samples in several countries from Latin America. Details are presented in the Review Microplastics in Latin America Ecosystems: A Critical Review of the Current Stage and Research Needs by Andreia N. Fernandes, Crislaine Bertoldi, Larissa Z. Lara, Jéssica Stival, Nortom M. Alves, Pedro M. Cabrera and Marco T. Grassi on page 303.
