Sulfonic acids can catalyze the formation of imines from aldehydes and amines in aprotic solvents even in trace amounts. Details are presented in the Article Formation of α,β-Unsaturated Imines in Apolar Aprotic Solvent: Effect of Hidden Acid Catalysts Analyzed by Theoretical Calculations by Virginia C. Rufino and Josefredo R. Pliego Jr. on page 1499.

Theoretical and experimental solvatochromic study of fluconazole distinguishes the solvent polarizability, dispersion, and electronic induction as the main parameters that justify solute-solvent interaction. The three pKa values of fluconazole were evidenced by thermochromism.

A series of indolylglycines derivatives were synthesized under an effective, green, and simple approach via multicomponent reaction. Our results indicate that these compounds are a promising potential class of novel synthetic herbicides more phytotoxic than the positive control (atrazine and glyphosate).
