The cover art depicts the molecular structure of one of the various lanthanide-based coordination compounds explored in this work. The beam of light irradiating from the complex illustrates its emissive feature arising from the association between spectroscopic properties of both lanthanide ion and ligand. The magnetic field lines reference the single-ion magnet property of the complex, evidencing its multifunctional nature. The lanthanide-based compounds irradiated at 280 nm are fluorescent species due to the key role played by the 4picH (zwitterionic form of the 4-picolinic acid) ligand as a sensitizer. The dysprosium derivative is a potential white-light emitter and behaves as a field-induced single-ion magnet.
